MDAM + Peer Connections MB/MHERC Mindshift Book Club
The Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, in collaboration with Peer Connections Manitoba and the MHERC Library, offers an ongoing self-help book club designed to support connection, reflection, and personal growth.
This program provides a welcoming, community-centered space where participants can explore mental health and well-being through guided discussion and shared learning.

About the Most Recent Session
Our latest book club session explored The Courage to Be Happy by Ichiro Kishimi — a thoughtful follow-up to The Courage to Be Disliked.
Over five weeks, participants engaged in meaningful conversations around:
- courage and personal growth
- relationships and connection
- finding purpose and fulfillment
This session was co-facilitated in partnership with Peer Connections Manitoba and the MHERC Library, creating a supportive environment grounded in lived experience and peer support.

What to Expect
Each book club session typically includes:
- A small group setting (limited capacity)
- Weekly guided discussions
- A welcoming, peer-supported environment
- No prior experience required—just curiosity and openness
