MDAM + Peer Connections MB/MHERC Mindshift Book Club

The Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, in collaboration with Peer Connections Manitoba and the MHERC Library, offers an ongoing self-help book club designed to support connection, reflection, and personal growth.

This program provides a welcoming, community-centered space where participants can explore mental health and well-being through guided discussion and shared learning.

Our most recent book club session has now concluded.

We are currently selecting our next book and confirming upcoming dates.

Please check back soon or join our mailing list by emailing mixedprogram@moodmb.ca to be notified when registration opens for the next session.

Our latest book club session explored The Courage to Be Happy by Ichiro Kishimi — a thoughtful follow-up to The Courage to Be Disliked.

Over five weeks, participants engaged in meaningful conversations around:

  • courage and personal growth
  • relationships and connection
  • finding purpose and fulfillment

This session was co-facilitated in partnership with Peer Connections Manitoba and the MHERC Library, creating a supportive environment grounded in lived experience and peer support.

This session of the MDAM Book Club was made possible through the generous support of Edison Properties.

We are grateful for their commitment to supporting mental health education and community connection.

Each book club session typically includes:

  • A small group setting (limited capacity)
  • Weekly guided discussions
  • A welcoming, peer-supported environment
  • No prior experience required—just curiosity and openness

Space is limited to 15 participants per session.

If you’re interested in joining a session, we invite you to pre-register by filling out the form below. A member of our team will follow up with additional details as the start date approaches. If the form is unavailable, all spots have been filled. Thank you!
