Manitoba addictions and mental health services struggling to keep up

Manitobans in need of professional mental-health care can face lengthy waits. Depending on the severity of symptoms and the health region, some patients can wait up to two years to see a psychologist or psychiatrist through the public system.

Mental health and addictions supports and services are in high demand in Manitoba, in a sector plagued by staffing and funding challenges. As Iris Dyck reports, it’s causing lengthy waits for life-saving care.
