Help/Support/Contact
Hi, I’m Michael Carvalho and I am the Interlake Outreach Support Worker. I recently joined the MDAM team in late April of 2022, and currently live in the city of Winnipeg. I did spend most of my childhood living in Lockport and driving into Selkirk with my immigrant parents to clean local businesses. I am excited to be back in my region and also bring support and Mental Health resources for the community. I am proud to have launched the Seniors Tea & Tales program in Selkirk, MB, and I currently facilitate the Friends and Family Peer support online group. I also work at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre once a week as a Self-Help Rep and provide one-on-one peer support and organize support groups for the residence of SMHC. I drove for the City of Winnipeg as a bus operator for almost 4 years and my favorite part of the day was interacting with so many different people on so many different paths of life. Through this position, I hope to provide as many safe spaces, using my groups, and reassure everyone that they are seen, heard and matter. I am grateful to be working with the Gordon Howard Centre in Selkirk, Mb and helping me bring in-person support groups to the communities.
If you ever want to reach out or have any questions on any of the presentations we offer, please do not hesitate to call or email me!
